Your notes stay on your device
Nook does not require an account. The notes, handwritten content, categories, return dates, and other content you create in Nook are stored locally on your device.
Nook does not upload this content to a developer-operated server, Firebase, or Meta.
You can delete individual entries in the app. Uninstalling Nook removes its locally stored app data from that device, subject to any device or iCloud backups managed through your Apple settings.
Local notifications
If you choose a return date for a Future Self note, Nook may ask for permission to schedule a local notification.
The notification is scheduled on your device. Nook does not use a remote push-notification server for this feature.
You can change notification permission at any time in iOS Settings.
App configuration and analytics
Nook uses Firebase Remote Config to provide app configuration and Google Analytics for Firebase to understand general app usage.
Depending on the service and configuration, Firebase may process an app installation identifier, app and device information, language, country, time zone, operating system version, and events such as opening or using parts of the app.
Nook does not send the text or handwriting in your notes to Firebase.

Campaign measurement
Nook uses the Meta SDK to measure advertising installs and app events related to campaigns promoting Nook.
Meta may receive app-install and app-activity events, app and device information, and device or advertising identifiers where permitted. This information is used to measure and improve promotional campaigns.
Nook does not send the text or handwriting in your notes to Meta.
Where required by iOS, Nook asks for permission before allowing tracking or access to the advertising identifier. If you decline, Nook does not access the advertising identifier.
Limited technical and app-event information permitted by the platform may still be processed for analytics and campaign measurement.
You can change tracking permission at any time in iOS Settings.
